AT LAST ! BANKY W OPENS UP ON WIZKID ALLEGED WOMANISING

Bankole Wellighton known as Banky W, the CEO of E.M.E actually made Wizkid a superstar.

But it’s so disheartening that, there has been much controversies for Wizkid.

Wizkid has faced with too many controversies through the year, ranging from impregnating an undergraduate, to allegedly stealing the Pakurumo song, to the internet unclad picture scandal, the rumoured affair between him and sexy actress Tonto Dike and other ‘illicit’ affair-he’s sure got a bagful of scandals rocking his back.

In a recent interview, Banky W reacts to Wizkid alleged womanizing and the rest of the rumour.

First, the Bible says train your child the way he should go so that when he grows, he will not depart from it. So, I believe if you put the right thing in place and the right training in place and you do the right thing at the beginning. I think Wiz has a good training spirit and I believe he has learnt that from his parents because I took him up two and half years ago. He has great parents and we love them and we have constant communication with them.

We need to thank them raising a solid boy like Wiz. So, I am acting as his big brother and boss and I constantly talk to him and the other artiste, Skales. I try to instill discipline in them and level of focus too.

Obviously, they live with me and it is very easy to checkmate them and provide the disciplinary roles necessary. So, they take to my advice.

Asked, there were some unpleasant reports about Wizkid. As his boss, I want you to react to some. He was alleged to be a womanizer? He said 'On the alleged womanizing and the rest of the rumour, I am not a stranger when it comes to rumour. In fact, I have a lot of experience when it comes to rumour and it’s always coming up when you have become a recognized figure'.

There are lots of people that will love you and appreciate you and at the same time, some people’s job is to slander your personality. They will spread as many as possible rumours about you.If you ask them why they are spreading the rumour, they will not have a definite answer other than they don’t just like you.

With that, Iam not going to address anybody that wants to tarnish my image and that of my artistes.

Though Akon tweeted;

E.X.P.O.S.E.D: Another Awaiting BABYMAMA For 2FACE IDIBIA !

Having kids with different women definitely affected me. But all in all, people will talk, others will criticize, while some will rejoice at their fellow man's misfortune because that's how human beings are. But I was really affected. Would I have been bigger is if it hadn't happened? That I don't know. Maybe all those things happened to prevent me from doing something worse. Polygamy was never part of my plan. Everybody has their plans and mine was never to be polygamous. But I would have done the same thing again, which is to accept the children. I love mychildren" .

These are the words of Innocent Ujah Idibia popularly known as 2face. Everyone thought he had finally learnt his lesson, albeit the hard way from his experiences with women but the reverse is the case.

The African Queen crooner is in the news again as we gathered he’s involved in a guarded romance with Queen Ure, the estranged wife of fellow musician, Emmanuel Okosie also known as Soul E.

Though it is not clear when it started- the guarded romance is said to have been on for a while.

Informants divulged that 2face infrequent visits to the Omole, Lagos abode of Ure is listed as one of the cover for the low profile romance.

According to a source 2face is just having casual fun, though the lady prefers something more serious.

Informants are of the opinion that the chances of 'something serious' coming to play in the shrouded romance is almost absolutely nil, except of course the irregular phenomenon of 'unexpected' factor in such affairs come into play and change the shape of things.

The allure of fame and means of trying to make head way in the entertainment industry, that resulted in her short lived marriage to Soul E are said to be some of the ingredients that sparked off the affair between 2face and Ure.

In a recent chat with a celebrity blog, Queen Ure, was quoted: " I have always been in love with Tuface; this, I can’t deny. I love him and I am crazy about him,”

Asked if she intended to have a baby for him, she replied
: “I think that’s too early for now. But, the fact remains that I love him.”

“The notion that my affairs are motivated by a desire to be famous are very wrong perceptions. On the contrary, I think I’m quite the opposite.

“I would have long gotten into music myself, if I wanted fame because I’m good at it. I do not have any hidden agenda. My saying I love Tuface is because I do. That’s all there is to it. Who will choose to be controversial? I wouldn’t
,”she added.

JIM IYKE IN FRESH TROUBLE

Top actor James Ikechukwu Esemugha popularly known as Jim Iyke seems to be in fresh trouble.

As you read this page, the dark skin sexy dude is no longer sleeping in his mansion at Federal Capital Territory, Abuja. The problem responsible for his escape from home has nothing to do with the alleged N15 million court case.

According to information gathered, he got into fresh trouble over his acclaimed brand new Cameron SS Convertible and Plymouth Prowler Convertible cars worth N16 million.

As revealed by insider sources, Jim is not the original owner of the two wonders-on-wheels which he claimed to have bought last month.

We reliably gathered that the two expensive cars were handed over to Jim by his close friends who is based in UK to take care of pending when they will return to Nigeria and have need to use the cars.

Rather than adhering to his agreement with his pals, Jim not only hit the streets of Abuja with the automobiles but also alleged falsified information that he acquired the two cars for N16 million.

According to his close pals, the truth about the real owners of those cars came to the open last week when they stormed Abuja and demanded their Camero SS Convertible and Plymouth Prowler Convertible from the talented actor.

Jim’s close friends who begged anonymity disclosed that on seeing the cars they became furious and insisted that Jim has on the process of using their cars inflicted damages on them, after minutes of argument they told him that the case will be settled at the Police Station as they were ready to invite the Police over.

Immediately they left his compound, Jim allegedly ran away from his house and left the two cars where his embittered friends can easily pick them and leave in peace.

They equally revealed to us that the Nollywood actor gave the media false information concerning the cost price of these automobiles,as they got the cars with N13.3 million. They insisted that they got the dark color Plymouth Prowler for $43,000 while Camero SS went for $40,000.

However, Jim had already left his mansion when they arrived with the Police. It was informed that they quietly left with their cars. It is not clear if Jim has moved back to his house now, as sources informed that till penultimate weekend, Jim was still unable to return to his house.

It was equally disclosed to us that most of former posh cars paraded by Jim Iyke do not really belong to him, as his friends who are based in UK, US, Europe and Canada usually give him cars to keep for them till their return, while others send cars for him to sell.

In these situations, Jim is said to have flaunted the cars as if they rightfully belong to him.

Such cars include; Chryslers, Rolls Royce, Range Rover, G-Wagon and many others.

E.X.P.O.S.E.D FRESH WAR BETWEEN GENEVIEVE NNAJI AND STEPHANIE OKEREKE

If information at our disposal is anything to write home about, then the relationship between two actresses Genevieve Nnaji and Stephanie Okereke has got messier.

It was reported that the two friends are in feud over access to the Presidency and presidential aides.

According to our impeccable source, the rift started during the President GEJ campaign period when Nollywood started its fever pitch romance with politics.

We gathered that Stephanie was the arrowhead of the Goodluck Ebele Jonathan’s campaign contact group with the film industry.

At the height of the chummy relationship with the Presidency officials led by Presidential Adviser on Strategy and Documentation, Oronto Douglas, Genevieve and Stephanie were regular faces at Eko Hotel where meetings were held with film practitioners and at campaign rallies.

Along the line, Genevieve started seeing Oronto and other presidential aides at Raddison Blu Hotel, Ozumba Mbadiwe, Victoria Island, Lagos oftentimes without Stephanie’s knowledge.

Every other weekend at Raddison Blu Hotel, Genevieve is with Oronto and other girls at the presidential suites.

Findings revealed that the Presidential aides most especially Oronto Douglas who appears to be enjoying the company of Genevieve these days better than Stephanie, triggered the cold war as we learnt Stephanie is feeling being left out and she is not taking it lightly because she was the one who brought Genevieve into the presidency’s setting.

We shall keep you posted as events unfold.

Confessions By the Koko Master – “It’s so difficult to find a wife.”

Check out this exclusive interview conducted by Vanguard with D’banj on Saturday.
The Kanye West Deal
First of all there are two different kinds of contracts here. This deal is more like a Mo Hit’s Records contract and under Mo Hits, there are two deals.
The first, is a two- year production deal with Don Jazzy. He’ll be working directly with Kanye West. The second one is more like a partnership. It’s flexible because it’s a partnership. It’s not a regular deal because we’re funding some part of the deal. And it also puts us in the position of power. The deal isn’t just for the Mo’hits crew. Other artists will also have access to it and the money will come in. We now have the connection and the bridge has finally been built and as we’re doing that we’re still holding our base back home. So it’s flexible and good too.
The New Single
Oh yes, it will drop before December by God’s grace with a beautiful video. It’s a Kanye West collabo.
‘No long thing’?
Mo Hits records stands for more hits as you well know. I decided to use ‘no long thing’ meaning no long story, because I love freestyle and I love to play with words. The Koko thing was coined in London. Before we finished the recording of my first album, there was an independence show in October 2004 which I was invited to perform as a solo artist. Then I was signed on to Backbone records headed JJC of the 419 Squad.
Before the show, we’d parted ways JJC, but he was nice enough to say we could still perform with his group. Kween Onokala who was also a former member of the crew was the first to climb the stage. After her performance, I was told by DJ Abass the organiser of the show, I was only good enough for a song.
As I went on stage, I shouted ‘I’m D’banj’ and it was only one guy who responded by saying “ we no know you”(we don’t know you). Then I responded with “if you no know me, wait you go know me”. Then I started singing. And the song I did was an Afro beat song.
So as Kween made to leave the stage, I pleaded with her not to. I sang, “make you know ask me wetin you go do for me, but ask me wetin I do for you, wey go make my body stand well well…”
Everyone just went mad with excitement. The outfit I wore that night was sent from Nigeria by my brother. And because it was a size smaller, my broda the trouser come jump
As I was rounding up, DJ Abass beckoned that I continue. Immediately I went into the song, Mo Bo Lowo Won.
Gbagaun, come see spraying, meeen! Gbenga Adeyinka, can tell the story. By the time I finished that, I did a third song. Then Gbenga Adeyinka came up and said “who say them no know am?” And everybody shouted “we don know am!”
And that’s how I also came up with “I’m Skibanj. ” Skibanj evolved because of our interactions with some Jamaican friends who were always with us in the studio.
My performance earned me the right to now play with JJC. I played the mouth organ in the song, See Me See Wahala. A certain Nigeria journalist who was in crowd wrote on my performance.
As at that time, my mother who didn’t agree that I go into music, saw the story, called and demanded that I return home.
Coming Home
I was an Engineering student in LASU. And mum obviously like every parent, didn’t see anything good in the business.
But I told her it’s what I wanted. So advised that even if I wanted to do music, I should be through with school first.
So she said I could come back home and that they’ll support me. By this time, Don Jazzy and I were already planning on how to come back and that’s how we found Mo’Hits.
Do You like the Koko?
When we first returned home, we played some of our songs to friends and I remembered Ruggedman saying the Koko song was going to be a hit.
Because of the way people reacted to the Koko song, we decided to shoot the video. And after the release we went back to London to hustle. By February, we got paid N150,000 to do a show in Lagos. I was only able to pay for only one ticket to come home, but I told Don Jazzy not to worry because we were already gaining grounds.
The next show in 2005 was good and I told Don Jazzy to come home. He flew in and we did the album launch at White House on 25th March, 2005. And things have been going well since then.
Challenges
I want to say thanks to my mum because she’s been support. We had no godfather or money but mum supported myself and Don Jazzy. The challenges of settling in was more of us moving from one hotel to the other in trying to get ourselves ready because we couldn’t do it from the house. We did most of the jobs in the night and it was hard moving from one place to the other.
Don Jazzy and I were flat mates in London, so it was easy to share the boys-quarters of Mummy’s house. But soon we got a place at Otedola Estate around Marwa garden. We were happy and mummy was too. She was even in support because she knew that our jobs were always in the night. She supported us and I remember she bought us a Previa bus. Before success came we paid our dues by doing more than a hundred free shows
I’m D’Banj
I think I’m more matured and have more experience. Obviously life is good and sweet. To whom much is given, much is expected. So Don Jazzy and I think of ways to come out with creative things. God has been faithful and I owe no thanks to anybody but to God Almighty.
I’m not a great singer, I’m not even a singer, not a rapper, I’m just a entertainer. And whenever people hear my songs they’re always happy. And we try to bring out something different all the time and the Mo’hit crew live in harmony and blend with everyone, both the high and low.
Koko Mansion
The Koko mansion winner was not supposed to become my companion. Even oversea when you do a reality shows, you could say you’re looking for the best this or that. Koko Mansion was a search for the ideal woman and not for D’banj’s ideal woman.
With my exposure, I’ve found out abroad, the picture of an ideal woman is different from what we have here. There, both couple would cook and do other chores together. But here, it’s not same. And that’s why I was not responsible for the winner or loser. If I had to choose the winner, I’d another woman. But it was all about whom an ideal woman is to us Africans.
At the end of the day after she won, I saw the reason why they voted for her because she was ideal to them in their own way. She was ideal, cool, respectful and had other qualities. But as a man, I was not attracted to want to date or marry her. Even some people in the house saw that I was attracted to some other Kokolet not minding if she’s a criminal. I wasn’t meant to be with her but it was for her to be established in her own way. We sponsored her to South Korea after then, she went on a project she signed for. So she wanted to work as a presenter and I tried getting her into HiTV and she did the job for a while but I don’t know whether she’s still there.
The return of Koko Mansion
So many things have happened to us over the years. We’ve had the America trip, the collabo with Snoop Dog and more. Reality shows takes a lot and we have to do it well.
The first time we did it, Hi TV sponsored it. After that we got sponsors especially from DSTV. But there’s a problem because Hi TV covers mainly London and a lot of my London people enjoyed the season one.
But for season 2, DSTV is going to give me 800 million Africans and I’m trying to look for how we can expand.
The next reality show might be a camera man just following me around. It doesn’t have to be the search for an ideal woman. It might be Koko Mansion shot in te studio and there will be the making of my album.
They say I’m a role model to many youths and they’re confused about how I work. The show could focus on the making of my songs, so the youth would see that it isn’t so easy coming out with a good album.
So my reality show is not going to be limited to the search for an ideal woman.
The Genevieve Story
I really can’t remember, it cost between N4m to N5m. I‘m not too sure. But I think it’s a beautiful idea if not for the way everyone is trying to go about it. I think Genevieve is a stunner I could date or love her. But we didn’t date. She’s my friend and a star you know. We’re close and we both understand that things couldn’t work out.
That song was recorded two years before the video was released and it remains my biggest song ever.I wanted to make a statement with it.
We had options of whom to use in the video, but at the end of the day, we saw that it’s an African song and by that time I had already played it in about fifty weddings.
A touch of Jazzy
I think we should ask Jazzy that question because I objected to the idea and wanted to do something for Koko mansion. It was Jazzy who insisted we do it. I told him I couldn’t do stuff like that because I’m not P-Square, I’m not used to love songs. But Jazzy said I had to do it.
I did it again in Scape Goat. Yes, I will do more love songs because now, I’m international and it doesn’t really matter if it’s Hip -hop or R & B.
My songs will be based on the ideas I get. When Falling love was done, I was going through a phase, now I’m a grown man. And that’s why I recorded Oliver Twist.
We’ve short listed our top 50.
You asked why it’s taking us long to start our realty show? We’ve started it, it’s just that we’re looking for the best way to drop it. Don Jazzy did the Enigma and we’d more than 1800 entries.
With Oliver Twist, we have over two thousand entries from more than eighty countries.
We’re actually taking the top five videos which we will either add or re-create to suit the real Oliver Twist video.
Cult Illuminati
Unlike Don Jazzy, I’m not Internet friendly. So I don’t know what Illuminati is. I believe in Jesus Christ the Almighty God, who has given to me, all the money and successes. I’ve no idea of what people are talking about. I’ve heard a lot of rumor about us being members of Illuminati, drug trafficking and other allegations. I think the rumors are because of our success stories and because Nigeria exports nothing but music and movies.
So, it’s wake up time for our youths know that what we do isn’t for us alone but for the whole nation. And if you tarnish what we export, you’d have us running away to overseas to live our lives. Seal ran away from the country because of the same problem and he’s one of the biggest artists in the world today. If he was, his money would have done a lot for the youth.
President Jonathan connection
First of all, he didn’t ask to be interviewd, instead I did the asking and that was four months before the election came up. I asked for the interview because I needed to have a good reason for what I’d wanted to do.
A year before then, I already changed my song from Scape Goat to I Will Vote For Him. A lot of people had asked why I changed title of my song.
I told myself that if I had an opportunity to meet him, I’d ask him just one question which is, his agenda for the youths.
I’m not a journalist and couldn’t have asked the relevant questions. I was only interested in his plans for the youths. I still have recording of the interview.
If some people were not biased, they’d see that he addressed at least nine issues ranging from job, employment to education and everything that I thought was okay for my level.
I’ve no regret for doing the interview. Because of the reactions of some people, I had to go back and watch the whole thing and I saw the highlights again.
I wasn’t even around when it was aired.
More Koko please
Am I good in bed? How I’m suppose to know? I think you should ask the women, but please don’t ask a virgin
That song is misleading them. When you say how big is the koko?, then they want to see if it’s that big. But when some come, they see what they either want to see or don’t expect to see.
So are you saying that the song has put you into a lot of trouble?
Yes, a lot of time. But to find a lady that really likes one genuinely makes me paranoid. Of late, I dated a lady called Dana and she doesn’t even know that I’m a musician. I told her I’m a businessman. She’s based in America and I like it. Is it wrong? Even if I date a foreigner, I still have to come back home.
Are you saying you haven’t met any Nigerian lady?
It’s really hard to find because how will I know she likes me genuinely? My mother said I should go to Bishop Oyedepo’s Church, Living Faith to find a wife.

Baba Suwe Narrates Experience in NDLEA Custordy – ” they put something in my mouth and pump water into it.”

Baba suwe narrates what happened to him at the NDLEA custordy to the court on Friday.
“On Wednesday, they came and said we were going to the hospital. When we got there, they put something in my mouth and pump water into it. After, they also put another thing in my anus and pump something into it. After, I started sh**ting (excreting). I went to the toilet six times that day. Since that day, I have been going to the toilet”.
Presiding judge, Justice Yetunde Idowu expressed shock at the level of degradation the Nollywood actor was subjected to by the NDLEA officials, in the last three days, despite the order of the court.
In her words: “I don`t feel comfortable about that. I feel the agency should not treat him (Baba Suwe) anyhow.”
Meanwhile, Baba Suwe’s counsel, Bamidele Aturu, has hinted that a big showdown is on the way. He tells Vanguard newspaper:
“They would do more than apologies. Heads must roll in the organization. They better start to look for other jobs. It is as simple as that!”
“This is the 24th day that my client has been in their detention. They have been conducting all sorts of tests on him and found nothing. It is also noteworthy that my client did not eat on Tuesday night, apparently they were preparing him for the tests” Aturu told the court.

WHY DBANJ MISSED CHANNEL O AWARD

In my research to know why D’banj didn’t attend the channel O music video awards, I found out that it was due to the fact that he was issued an economic class flight ticket which got him and his crew upset.
They were actually on there way to south Africa but decided to stay back in Naija when they noticed it was an economic class ticket.
P.S= I would get upset too if I was the one but I will go and complain later after the event, that’s humility in greatness. But what would you do if you were the one,go or not go?

Nigerian Immigration officer Samuel Shoyeju, Jailed in UK

Nigerian Samuel Shoyeju, an immigration officer, was jailed for seven years for falsely granting indefinite leave to remain to 44 non-EU residents who were not entitled to stay in the country.
Only 14 of the false letters that he issued have been recovered, meaning most of the recipients have not been identified.
Judge Christopher Mitchell said the case threatened to undermine the hard-won reputation for “probity and honesty” of British civil servants.
He added: “Actions like yours call into question in the public mind the entire integrity of the immigration system when, at the present time, immigration and immigration decisions are extremely sensitive.”
Basildon Crown Court heard the “treasured status” allowed immigrants to live, work and claim benefits as well as applying for full British citizenship.
The recipients, who are all believed to be Nigerian, ranged from asylum seekers to those who had already identified as “overstayers”.
Prosecutor Lucy Kennedy said: “Not all of those people have been traced.”
She added: “This case has cost the taxpayer a significant amount of money, both in terms of the investigation and in terms of those who remain in the country untraced.
“He abused the system he was employed to protect and he did so for his own selfish reasons, not out of some misguided sense of altruism.
“It was a breach of trust which will no doubt undermine confidence in public servants employed to protect UK borders.”
Shoyeju, who worked as a line manager in Croydon, amended and destroyed electronic and paper records to cover his tracks.
He used colleagues’ date stamps and accessed secure databases under other people’s names to divert attention away from himself.
When his home computer was searched a file called “Nigerian names” was found, relating to those he planned to grant visas to.
He was able to use a generic computer log-in to transfer secure files from Home Office systems without being identified, Ms Kennedy said.
“That system relies on the integrity of immigration officials themselves,” Ms Kennedy added.
“He had been employed to uphold immigration rules but, using his intricate inside knowledge of the system, he deliberately did the opposite.”
The 53-year-old, of Namur Road, Canvey Island, Essex, admitted misconduct in public office by falsely granting indefinite leave to remain between 2006 and 2007.
Although the prosecution has not been able to prove a financial motive, the court heard thousands of pounds were paid into his bank account during the time of the offence.
Stephen Linehan QC, in mitigation, said that there was not sufficient evidence that Shoyeju had a financial motive and could not be sentenced on that basis.
Judge Christopher Mitchell said: “An immense amount of public time and money has been spent investigating and preparing this case.”
Shoyeju arrived in the UK in 1988 and was allowed to remain until 1991 as a student.
The married father-of-three was then granted indefinite leave to remain as the spouse of a British citizen and was granted full citizenship in 1996.
He began working as an immigration officer in 2002.

Armed Soldiers take over PHCN stations

ARMED soldiers, yesterday, took over most of the nation’s power stations, including Egbin Power Station, as Power Holding Company of Nigeria, PHCN, workers threatened to withdraw their services.

This came as the State Security Service, SSS, invited the President and General Secretary of the National Union of Electricity Employees, NUEE, umbrella body for one of two unions in the sector, Comrades Mansur Musa and Joe Ajaero, respectively to Abuja for a chat today.

Meanwhile, a statement, yesterday, by the Power Ministry said soldiers would be deployed any moment from now to join policemen in guarding PHCN facilities across the nation.

Vanguard gathered that at Sapele and some other stations, there were clashes between workers and the armed soldiers.

The military takeover may not be unconnected with the controversy trailing reported physical due diligence being conducted on the power stations and installations by Dangote and 134 other power firms.

However, organised labour in the sector had dismissed the report and declared that there was no due diligence on the power stations.

Some of the power stations and distributions taken over by the soldiers are Sapele; Olorunsogbo in Ondo State; NCC Osogbo; Egbin; transmission stations in Gombe, Bauchi State; Ikeja West in Lagos; Ganmo in Ilorin; Birni Kebbi; Mando in Kaduna; Kano; Ayede in Ibadan and distribution stations in Doka; Gwiwa in Sokoto State; Osogbo in Osun State amongst numerous others.

Soldiers to assist police

The deployment, according to informed sources, is sequel to recent advice by the intelligence community to the Nigerian government to enhance security at “critical infrastructural facilities in Nigeria” as a result of the threat to national security by the extremist Islamic sect popularly known as Boko Haram, which wants the introduction of Sharia law all over Nigeria and regards western education as forbidden.

Troops from the Army, Navy and Air Force are to guard especially PHCN’s transmission and generation facilities, revealed sources in the office of the National security Adviser, General Andrew Aziza (rtd), himself a former Director of Military Intelligence and Chief of Army Staff.

The Minister of Power, Prof. Bart Nnaji, was on Sunday night informed of the Federal Government’s decision to deploy troops to protect the facilities and the workers, according to his Special Adviser, C. Don Adinuba, who added that “the minister has accordingly informed the PHCN Chief Executive, Engr. Hussein Labo, and the CEOs of the 18 PHCN successor companies, as well as stakeholders like the Senior Staff Association of Electricity and Allied Companies and the National Union of Electricity Employees of the development.”

It was also gathered that soldiers, who have been guarding high profile places in the Federal Capital Territory of Abuja like Sheraton and Hilton hotels in the wake of the Boko Haram attacks, are now deployed to big churches and mosques during service.

“It was soldiers,” stated a prominent worshipper who craved anonymity, “who yesterday provided security during yesterday masses at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church at Asokoro, Abuja.

10 Things Husbands Should Never Do

Guys, we love you, we really do. But as wonderful as you are, every so often you do something that makes us want to jump out the nearest window (or push you out first). Please, please, don’t ever…
1. Offer to “babysit” your own kids. When your 16-year-old neighbor does it, it’s called babysitting. When a parent does it, it’s called child care, and it lasts for at least 18 years. Get it?
2. Imply that office work is harder than housework. At the end of a hard day, there may be smoke coming out of your ears, but let’s face it: You’ve basically been sitting on your butt. That same smoke is coming out of our ears too—but we’ve cleaned the house, shuttled the kids around, run errands all over town and lugged grocery bags besides. When we say we’re exhausted, we are exhausted.
3. Give a home appliance as a gift. Forgive us if we can’t work it up for this one. A new washing machine? Really? Can we get you some new snow tires?
4. Buy us the “cougar” perfume. Under our crew-neck sweaters may beat the heart of an untamed vixen—but most of us don’t want to smell like one. (Nice try, though.)
5. Brag about your driving. This is supposed to let us know that ours isn’t so great. If my husband tells me one more time that he’s been “accident-free since 1978,” I’m going to reach over, grab the wheel and make the car swerve into something, just to shut him up.
6. Be unimpressed by a meal that took a lot of time and trouble. I don’t know whose fault this is (Food Network? Julie and Julia?), but every so often we get the idea that it would be fun to make stock and spend the day basting. If the result is less than earth-shattering, say something nice anyway.
7. Buy clothes without trying them on. We know that the second you get into a department store you start to feel faint, but do us a favor and take the extra five minutes. Otherwise, you know who gets stuck with the returns?
8. Know it all, especially in public. Oh, honey. While you’re going on at length about whatever it is, we’re taking the temperature of the room, and we know everyone’s starting to fidget.
9. Say anything remotely critical about our new haircut. Sometimes getting a new cut goes well; sometimes it doesn’t. Usually we know the difference. Don’t rub it in.
10. Expect a medal for doing a little housework. Umm…it’s your house too, right? For now, we’ll give you the bronze. Maybe someday, if you work hard enough, you can pick up a gold.
